About Us

Informed Fertility is a small, close-knit group of mental health professionals committed to supporting people in their family building goals, through reproductive trauma and relationship stressors, in promoting perinatal mental health, and in supporting people wishing to become donors or surrogates, and those who are donor conceived. We are committed to our clients, to our team and to our own life-long learning; and as importantly, to balancing the care we have for our work, with the commitments we have to maintaining our personal and family lives.

Core Values

  • Compassion. We have deep compassion for our clients’ lived experiences, and we feel privileged to hold their stories (of infertility, loss, trauma, discrimination, interpersonal complexities, systemic barriers).
  • Equity. We believe in equitable access to reproductive care and family building options regardless of sexual orientation/identity, relationship status, race, religion, geography.
  • Informed Choice. Our role is to support, facilitate and educate our counselling clients. While we may be experts in our professional field, our clients are experts in their own lives, and we trust in their inherent strengths, capacities and decision-making.
  • Integrity. We uphold the highest ethical standards in maintaining client confidentiality, in conducting surrogate and donor assessments according to professional guidelines, and in our relationships with affiliated clinics, agencies, organizations and other industry professionals.
  • Professionalism. We are committed to ongoing professional development including staying abreast of industry specific advances, updating psychosocial skills, and developing/maintaining partnerships and affiliations with others in the fertility industry.

Join Our Team

If you are open-minded, interested in the field of fertility and family building (and in particular donation and surrogacy), have experience working in trauma and loss, and are committed to helping clients cultivate strength and build resilience, we would love to meet you!

In addition to appreciating a great sense of humour, a thoughtful and empathetic demeanour and an independent self-motivator who thrives within a supportive team environment, we value equity and representation. As we continue expanding, our goal is to have a team that reflects the diversity of our clients. So while we encourage anyone interested in joining our team to apply, we especially welcome applications from BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ people. In addition, as our team is currently compromised of all women, the majority of mental health professionals in this field are female, and half of our clients are men, if you identify as male, we would also love to meet with you!

Finally, if you like the flexibility of being self-employed and also appreciate the benefits of being part of a supportive and dynamic team, becoming an associate at Informed Fertility might be a great fit for you!
